  • “What a terrific review article on performance anxiety in music!

I'll be mentioning it at a mental health on college campuses conference talk tomorrow. Not only does it articulate an important perspective that opens up additional paths to productive solutions for musicians, but it connects the research on musicians with the latest understanding of optimal performance in the sport psychology literature as well.” - Dr. Noa Kageyama, Bulletproof Musician

  • "After being introduced to yoga as a complete novice I feel completely at ease in Gwen's classes.

The pace enables me to work within my comfort range and feel confident following her clear and gentle guidance. I enjoy being given the space to breathe and stretch and become steadily more knowledgeable about the benefits practising yoga can bring. I'm already hooked and feel stronger after just a few weeks!" - Bekah, 2nd Bassoon, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra

  • “I just wanted to get in touch to say a huge thank you.

I had an exam yesterday where, as usual, I walked in thinking it’d be fine only to realise I was getting nervous a few phrases into my first piece. I quickly noticed my mindset spiralling and told myself that it was okay that I was nervous. Amazingly revolutionary for me - the rest of it was an absolute breeze. I’m sure this is only the first step of a journey for me but it feels like such a huge leap and I am so grateful for what you said in the workshop on Wednesday!”, Violinist & Workshop participant

  • "A truly exceptional teacher.

"I have been taking piano lessons for 2 years. I am 63 and had never played the piano but it was my dream to learn. Stephanie has made that dream come true.

She engages you in the music and teaching with the result of enjoying the experience but learning in a meaningful way. I appreciate her pushing me gently at times to help me go beyond where I limit myself.

I also have enjoyed the adult music sessions with her other pupils and recitals. These have been great ways to share music in the piano/music community.Stephanie is the kind of teacher that makes you want to learn and always makes you feel your potential to do that in way that is positive and fun." – Debbie H., Age 63

  • "Stephanie always pushes me to grow beyond my comfort zone.

"She makes sure that I know that it's okay, even good, to make mistakes, and that it is a natural part of learning. And she’s very supportive of my personal endeavors, not just relating to piano.

Since I started taking lessons from Stephanie, I have been much more enthusiastic about playing, and I have learned so much in the past two years with Stephanie than I ever have. Everyone should take lessons from Stephanie!"
    – Alice M., Age 14

  • “I was immediately impressed with Gwen's precise and clear instruction when she started teaching me.

She has a fantastic awareness of postural details which really support my yoga practice. I find her classes inspiring with a happy balance of mindfulness in both stillness and movement, and plenty of encouragement to challenge ourselves within our individual bodies' capacities.” -Nina, Principal Bassoon, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra
